"I was driving with my aunt in her car and someone got to close to her window and it sharted all over my backpack. A cop came but he was nice and he didn't need to give her a ticket." 1. I'm glad you're okay! 2. I think you meant shattered, not sharted :)
"I almost stepped on a daddy worm when I got out of the car today!" "How do you know it was a daddy worm?" "Because it was this (hands spread arms length apart) big!"
One of my girls said with a smile and a scrunched up face, "Ms. McElwee, when you walked by me, I could smell you. Did you wash your clothes?" I pretended to frantically smell my clothes,"Haha! Do you think I stink?!" She started laughing and said, "Nooo!! You smell like the kind of perfume that gets on clothes when you take them out of the laundry!"
A kid told me there was a worm in his pants. Of course this is funny for multiple reasons and I almost didn't want to ask him about it, but I did. I asked him how it got there and he said, "It was on the ground because of the rain and it crawled into my shoe. When I got into school, it crawled up my pants! Now I think it will crawl out and I will step on it."
A couple kids were chatting on the carpet while I was taking attendance. I couldn't really hear what they were talking about but wasn't super surprised when I heard someone say, "Oooo! Ms. McElweeeee! She just said a bad woorrrddd." The girl (who I have never heard say a "bad word" before) immediately said, "I did NOT. I was telling them about my Uncle Butch. Butch is not a bad word. He's my uncle."
"My mom can do a lot of things. Like cancel daycare and school in the summer." :)
I only have tomorrow and next week left and then that mom is canceling school for the summer!
